Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life.

Housing support is an educational, practical and social effort that aims to make it easier for the individual to manage their everyday life.Housing support works to engage, encourage and motivate the individual to independence by performing activities with support. The individual's specific needs determine what the housing support intervention should look like. Housing support is provided in the individual's own home or in the community. According to proven experience, housing support provides, among other things, increased ability to independently cope with their home life, increased participation in activities in the community and increased level of function.

We are now looking for more housing supervisors for the East, North and Center areas!

Your duties

As a housing supervisor, you work daily with people based on individual planning. You provide support to people with neuropsychiatric disabilities, mental illnesses and addiction. The work includes providing support in everyday activities so that the person you meet can take care of their home and their person. You participate in and facilitate contact with various stakeholders, such as care providers, authorities and other social contacts. All with the aim that the individual can eventually develop the ability to do this more independently.

Housing support is carried out by working with the individual to plan for, develop strategies and perform various everyday activities. The goal is for the individual to eventually be able to perform the activities based on their conditions. The support is carried out in the person's home but also out in the community.

Collaboration within the team and with other units and documentation are central parts of the work. We use evidence and research-based methods such as An Independent Life (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Resources in Meeting Aggression (REISMA) and Clarifying Pedagogy (TP). Housing support is a mobile work. The support is carried out in people's homes throughout our catchment area and you will mostly walk or cycle between visits.

About you

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have good communication skills, be able to keep calm even in challenging situations and have a respectful approach and the ability to create security. You work well with others but are also confident in working independently, which is an important part of the job. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Trained social worker, assistant nurse or have another education that the employer considers relevant to the assignment.
  • Experience of work in support and care or social work.
  • B driving license.
  • Unhindered knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing and good knowledge of English.

Advantageous

  • Experience of work in residential support.
  • Experience of neuropsychiatric disabilities
  • Experience of MI, ESL and clarifying pedagogy

Employment information

  • Three (3) positions permanent employment, full-time, starting by agreement or no later than 2026-09-01.
  • One position temporary, full-time, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-12-31.
