Are you the one?

The Labor Market and Integration Department has been given an expanded mandate, which means we need more staff. The Labor Market and Integration Department supports participants who need assistance to move toward employment or education. This work is primarily carried out in collaboration with partners such as Social Services, the Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, Region Västerbotten, the Prison and Probation Service, and employers.

The Labor Market and Integration Department provides support to individuals seeking employment or education who require coordinated assistance. We are part of the Labor Market Hub and collaborate with Social Services, the Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, the Prison and Probation Service, Region Västerbotten, as well as employers and civil society. Our operations are heavily influenced by external factors, including societal developments, political decisions, changes in legislation, and shifts in labor market conditions. Changes in the external environment influence our operations’ need for continuous development and adaptation. One such change is the activity requirement reform within the income support system, where we—in collaboration with Social Services—will offer activities for individuals subject to the activity requirement for income support.

The new law entails a new mission for our organization and an opportunity to provide support to more people as they transition to work or education—which is why we need you as a labor market consultant.

Your Responsibilities

As a labor market consultant in the Support for Employment, the Labor Market and Integration Department, your responsibilities will include working with and supporting participants to establish themselves in the labor market and/or begin their studies by

  • working together with the participant to identify and implement/monitor an individual plan aimed at achieving set individual goals.
  • Providing individual support to the participant, monitoring progress, and continuously evaluating the individual plan.
  • Incorporate activities that support the goal, e.g., group activities, workplace-based activities, and other supportive parallel initiatives.
  • Work in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify participants’ needs and seek solutions.
  • Motivational support.
  • Provide support to both participants and employers during workplace-based activities.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with all parties involved (colleagues in the Labor Market and Integration department as well as government agencies).
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of our work methods and collaboration.
  • Document according to procedures in the operational system.

About You

We are looking for someone with good self-awareness and who is self-assured. You have the ability to build trust, show empathy, and see opportunities. You must have a genuine interest in working with the target group and believe that people who are far from the labor market can, with the right support, succeed in finding, obtaining, and retaining a job or pursuing studies. You are highly motivated and work with a clear focus on the organization’s goal—helping individuals begin work or studies. The work is complex and involves many points of contact. You need to be creative, flexible, and solution-oriented. Working in our organization requires an interest in and a willingness to continuously develop yourself and to contribute to the organization’s growth in collaboration with others.

Collaborating in a multi-party partnership—based on your own assignment and with a shared vision for the participant—requires the ability to understand your own role and mission while simultaneously working toward the best interests of the participant and other partners in the collaboration. This requires sensitivity, the ability to understand other parties’ roles, mandates, and regulations, and the ability to work toward jointly established goals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
