Umeå Culture is responsible for libraries and the library bus in Umeå municipality, as well as cultural activities for children and young people, culture for seniors, art activities and the Women's History Museum. Ålidhem Library is located in the Ålidhem district, housed in Södra Ålidhem School. The library is one of the local libraries with library services, exhibitions and some program activities for both children and adults. The library is a combined public and school library. The library is part of Umeå Kultur's organization and is organizationally located within the Library Department together with the other 10 libraries in the municipality. We are now looking for a librarian for a 6-month temporary position for unit North with placement at Ålidhemsbiblioteket. Your work tasks As a librarian, you will work to guide all our target groups based on their information needs and questions. You need to be prepared to work with all tasks that occur in a library, such as reference work, book setting and borrower guidance, where both day, evening and weekend duty are included. The work can also include meeting larger groups at e.g. story time, book talk or other types of arrangements for adults and children. About you We are looking for people who want to create accessible meeting places with literature and cultural experiences, information and knowledge. You have an academic degree in library and information science. You have an inclusive approach and the ability to create good meetings. You enjoy working in an outward-looking manner with a focus on a high level of service and enjoy meeting people of all ages. It is advantageous if you have experience working with the target group of young people. You have good collaboration skills but can also work independently. You have good digital skills and the ability to support borrowers on digital issues. You have a good command of spoken and written Swedish and English. Other language skills, for example in national minority languages, are an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability!
