Umeå Kultur is part of Umeå municipality and is responsible for a wide range of cultural activities that include the City Library in Kulturhuset Väven, ten local libraries, a library bus, the Culture School and the Women's History Museum. We work to promote and develop cultural life in Umeå, with a particular focus on children and young people, and also run a program activity. We are now looking for a librarian for a temporary position at Tegsbiblioteket, a local library located in Tegs central school! Your work tasks As a librarian, you will work to guide all our target groups based on their information needs and questions. The work is broad and varied and you need to be prepared to work with all tasks that occur in a library, which includes: Passport duty at the information desk Selection of literature Preparing and running book talks and other activities, especially for younger children About you For this position, you have an academic degree in library and information science. You will also have previous experience. Experience in working with reading promotion activities for children and young people is highly appreciated. We are looking for you who want to create accessible meeting places with literature and cultural experiences, information and knowledge. You have an inclusive approach and the ability to create good meetings. You enjoy working outwardly with a focus on a high level of service and enjoy meeting people of all ages. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills but can also work independently. You have good digital skills and the ability to support borrowers on digital issues. You have a good command of spoken and written Swedish and good language skills in English. Other language skills, for example in national minority languages, are an advantage.
