Umeås public library is part of Kulturen i Umeå kommun and consists of the city library, ten local libraries and a library bus. Umeå City Library is located on three floors in Väven, a building created for cross-border collaboration. The city library has the units Väven Lär and Väven Läs, which work closely together. The library is part of the Umeå region's library cooperation with a common media stock, loan system and the website minabibliotek.se.

We are now looking for a substitute library assistant for the Väven Lär unit at Umeå City Library!
Your duties
In this position as a library assistant, you will work with invoice management and other administration. You will also work in the public areas of the library, for example, with book setting, patron guidance and other tasks that occur in libraries. If you have special language skills in, for example, national minority languages or other special skills, these can be useful in library activities.
About you
We are looking for you who have an upper secondary education in economics or administration. You have good IT skills and master Swedish in speech and writing and have good language skills in English. Experience of working with invoice management and working in a library is an advantage.
Your ability to work independently and in a structured manner is very good, while cooperation and dialog with colleagues and the municipality's finance department is an important part of the work. You have an inclusive approach and the ability to create good meetings. You enjoy working outwardly with a focus on a high level of service for people of all ages. We attach great importance to personal suitability.
Other
The position is a temporary position from 2026-05-25 to 2027-03-31, with the possibility of extension. Day, evening and weekend work is included.
