The leisure administration in Umeå municipality wants to contribute to a good living environment by creating good opportunities for active leisure with sports, exercise, recreation and public health. Its area of responsibility includes the operation of sports and leisure facilities, leisure, excursion and recreation areas, facilities for leisure boats and initiatives in leisure fishing and outdoor recreation. Through the municipality's joint Associations Office, the Leisure Administration is responsible for the overall preparation, follow-up and evaluation of the municipality's support for associations and for strengthening contacts between the municipality's various representatives and organized associations. The hub is Umeå's largest swimming pool and adventure pool in the city center. We opened our doors in 2016 and in our modern premises we offer swimming, exercise, relaxation and experiences for everyone. We have about 30 employees and in the summer, the staff is also distributed to Umelagun, which is a temperate outdoor pool adjacent to Nydalabadet's beach located at the northern end of Lake Nydala. Your tasks As a lifeguard, you will work on our most important task: ensuring a safe environment and good service. Your duties include, among other things: Lifeguarding Reception/other customer service Cleaning/laundry Swimming lessons Relaxation host with sauna sessions Facilitating group training At the reception you are the face of our visitors, answering questions and selling subscriptions, one-off tickets and goods from our shop. If needed, you will also support our restaurant. Heavy lifting is involved. About you We are looking for you who are able to swim, have work experience from the service industry and cash register experience. We look positively if you have experience working with children, as a swimming teacher and/or at a swimming facility. It is also a plus if you have worked with our booking system BRP. We also see it as an advantage if you have training in any of the following: CPR/D-HLR Medical care/first aid Lifesaving Pool lifeguarding Lifeguard Swimming instructor Food and beverages Swimming skills are a requirement for the position and during the recruitment process you will have to undergo a work test consisting of falling into deep water and then swimming 200 meters, of which 50 meters on your back and dive down to 4 meters deep. As a person, you are service-oriented as you will act as a link between the customer and the facility. With us, the pace is sometimes high so you are also stress-resistant and adaptable to rapid changes and unexpected events. You are confident working independently as well as in teams and have good interpersonal skills. We will attach great importance to personal suitability.
