More about Streets and Parks and the role of Lighting Engineer in Street Operations Gator och Parker has 108 employees and the planning function is located in the city hall area in central Umeå. The department for Street Operations consists of just over 40 people and we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, squares and cycle paths on public land. As an engineer specializing in lighting within Street Operations, you will be involved in influencing the development of Umeå by maintaining the city's infrastructure. In the role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the street lighting network together with our procured contractors. You will investigate, plan, order and follow up on maintenance and reinvestment measures. You will ensure the technical functioning of the lighting by drawing up operation and maintenance plans, updating documentation and asset registers, and being responsible for the various street lighting control systems. You also handle fault reports and respond to the views of local residents and prepare decision-making documents for political decisions. Other operation and maintenance work also occurs. The service is broad and means that you have a coordinating role with many contacts both internally and externally. Work on standby may occur. About you Right now we are looking for you who are attracted by the challenge of being an important part of the municipality's work to maintain the infrastructure during the different seasons of the year. An exciting, challenging and varied job! We want you to have a university degree in electricity or an upper secondary school engineer with the aforementioned focus or with equivalent knowledge acquired in another way. You have a few years of experience working with similar tasks. We assume that you are familiar with current legislation and that it is an advantage if you have knowledge corresponding to General Authorization (ABL) up to 1000 volts. We would like you to have experience of lighting calculations. As a person, you are sensitive to development and change, social and service-oriented in the meeting with others and comfortable with making quick decisions. You enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with others, and have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. The position requires a B-driving license.
