More about Streets and Parks and the role of engineer specializing in lighting within Street Operations
Streets and Parks has 108 employees and the planning function is located in the City Hall area in central Umeå. The department for Street Operations consists of just over 45 people and we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, squares and cycle paths on public land.
As an engineer specializing in lighting within Street Operations, you will have an important role in developing and managing Umeå by ensuring a safe, functional and sustainable lighting infrastructure. You will work to further develop and maintain the municipality's existing lighting network and actively contribute to the city's long-term development.
In the role, you are responsible for planning and project management of reinvestment measures within the lighting network in Umeå municipality, in close collaboration with the Street Operations' operating engineer for lighting. You are also responsible for the procurement and implementation of major reinvestment projects.
You represent Gatudrift in lighting issues within Gator och Parker's street and park projects, where you act as technical support to project managers and monitor operational and management issues related to electricity and lighting. The work includes reviewing documents such as drawings and technical descriptions and participating in design and construction meetings and inspections.
The assignment also includes following developments in the technical field, contributing to the updating of Gator och Parker's technical handbook and producing decision-making documents for political decisions.
The position is broad and means that you have a coordinating role with many contacts both internally and externally. Work on standby may occur.
About you

Requirements
- High school education in electricity or high school engineer with the mentioned focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
- A few years of experience from working with similar tasks
- Knowledge of current legislation
- Experience in reviewing and understanding light calculations from DIALux or equivalent
- Understanding of the Swedish language in speech and writing and good knowledge of English
- B-driving license
Advantageous
- Experience from the design of public lighting

You enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with others and you are able to express yourself easily in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
