The management unit currently consists of five people and is part of the Environment and Health Protection Department and contributes to a rewarding workplace where many professions come together. Your tasks As a trustee, you have a personal commitment under the Parental Code and are responsible to the guardianship board in the Umeå region. The duties include safeguarding rights, managing property and caring for people. The aim of the work is to safeguard and improve the principal's quality of life. As a trustee, you work with the entire range of social work, except that you do not take official decisions. Instead, you are the one who applies for interventions for people in need of representation, known as principals. Your work is based on each individual's specific needs/conditions and you strive to ensure that the life situation of each principal is as good as possible. You represent and safeguard the interests and rights of the principals in their daily lives, both socially and financially. This means that, in addition to contacts with principals, you also have contact with various authorities such as social services, psychiatry, social security and others. Managing and being responsible for the principals' private finances is part of the work, which is reported to the guardianship unit on an annual basis. The work involves home visits to the principals, which may involve contact with furry animals, dust, cigarette smoke and strong smells. About you We are looking for you who have a university degree, preferably with a focus on behavioral or social sciences, but other education that the employer considers equivalent may also be relevant. The way we work places high demands on the ability to work independently. You have experience of social work, linked to socially vulnerable people. We consider it positive if you also have experience of financial accounting. The work involves travel in the service so a B-driving license is a requirement. You also need to be able to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and we believe that you are responsive, empathetic and have a good ability to meet and create confidence in different individuals. You have a professional approach to people in vulnerable situations. You take responsibility for your tasks, take initiative, drive your processes forward and achieve results.
