Meal service in Umeå municipality includes the preparation and serving of lunches in both pre- and compulsory schools, upper secondary schools, restaurants and several units in elderly care. Through public meals, the food service contributes to good public health and sustainable development. The Sjöstjärnan preschool in Yttersjö started its operations on January 1, 2025. Yttersjö is located about 15 km from Umeå and offers scenic surroundings with forest and lake. Sjöstjärnan has two departments with age-divided groups of children. In the business there is a position that includes both supporting around the meals at the preschool and the local care and here we are now looking for an important colleague at 75%. Your tasks In this position you will prepare breakfast and snacks for our guests. You will also receive lunch sent from a production kitchen in Umeå. You are responsible for all dishwashing that occurs, as well as other cleaning in both the kitchen and the preschool's two departments. You will also work with the following tasks: Ordering of goods Receiving goods Ordering portions from production kitchens Laundry Continuous improvement - we always want more! About you We are looking for you with at least a high school diploma, but we look favorably on whether you also have training in meals / restaurant / local care. You have experience of working in meals / restaurant / local care, preferably in a preschool environment. As a person, we believe that you are flexible, responsible and problem-solving with good cooperation and communication skills. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as the work is always done in close collaboration with students and colleagues. Heavy lifting occurs in the workplace.
