Umeå municipality is part of the administrative areas for Finnish, Meänkieli and Sami, which gives these languages enhanced protection. The goal of the Swedish minority policy is to provide protection for the national minorities and strengthen their opportunities to influence and support the historical minority languages so that they are kept alive

About the assignment
As a minority coordinator with a focus on the Sami people, you work to make visible, develop and coordinate the work of elderly care with the Sami and Sami languages. You plan and implement activities, run communication initiatives and contribute to strengthening Sami language and cultural identity. The role involves close collaboration with Sami organizations, Sami associations and other relevant actors. A certain part of the service also includes support for the Roma and Jewish minorities.
