If so, we can offer you a stimulating and varied job as a municipal lawyer. The municipal lawyers are part of the Legal Unit, which consists of four municipal lawyers. The unit belongs to the Democracy and Law Department at the City Management Office. The department is divided into five units with the General Counsel as head of department and as the immediate manager of the Legal Unit. As a municipal lawyer, you provide advice to the municipality's administrations and committees on both day-to-day and more complex legal issues. You will also prepare cases, review and draw up agreements and policy documents, represent the municipality in negotiations and in court, and train officials and elected representatives. Your work will focus on municipal law, administrative law, public access and confidentiality, and contract law. In addition, you will work in more specialized areas of law that may vary over time, depending on the needs of the assignment and the business, your skills and your interest. Your tasks You will, for example, provide legal support and advice before and at municipal council meetings, on requests for public documents, on issues under the Public Order Act and local public order regulations, and on land leases. You will provide support on legal issues in the fields of secondary and adult education, and labor market and integration. These can range from school transportation, to contracts and evictions. You will also use your legal expertise to strengthen the areas of undue influence and welfare crime. About you We are looking for you who have: A law degree Some years of experience in legal work Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written We would like you to have: Experience of working with municipal law, administrative law and public access and confidentiality Experience from legal work in the public sector, preferably in a politically controlled organization Experience in providing legal advice to other professionals Experience in switching between different areas of law within the same post Experience in litigation before courts or appeal bodies We are looking for you who have a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach and where a holistic approach is an important perspective. You are quality conscious and take responsibility for independently driving issues forward. You have good collaboration skills, are responsive, pedagogical and can communicate in a target group-oriented manner. You have good judgment that comes in handy in legal considerations.
