The municipal lawyers are part of the Legal Unit, which consists of four municipal lawyers. The unit belongs to the Democracy and Law Department at the City Management Office. The department is divided into five units with the General Counsel as head of department and as the immediate manager of the Legal Unit.
As a municipal lawyer, you provide advice to the municipality's administrations and committees on both day-to-day and more complex legal issues. You will also prepare cases, review and draw up agreements and policy documents, represent the municipality in negotiations and in court, and train officials and elected representatives. Your work will focus on municipal law, administrative law, public access and confidentiality, and contract law. In addition, you work in more specialized areas of law that may vary over time, depending on the needs of the assignment and the business, your skills and your interest.
Your tasks
This position focuses on support and advice in IT law and operational data protection work within both the primary municipality and the municipal companies.
You will provide support and advice on legal issues related to information technology, digital solutions and services, AI, cybersecurity and data protection (GDPR). You will identify and assess the legal prerequisites for choosing digital systems and services and provide suggestions for choices from a legal perspective. You will assist in setting requirements in the procurement of IT systems and in the drafting and monitoring of IT agreements. You will also participate in other ways as knowledge support in IT legal issues.
With regard to data protection work, you will develop templates, procedures and guidelines on data protection. You will support and work closely with those working on data protection within the municipal group. You will provide knowledge support for, among other things, risk analyses in connection with impact assessments. You may also provide internal training on data protection.
About you
We are looking for people who have:
A law degree
Some years of experience in legal work
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
We would like you to have:
Experience of working with public access and confidentiality, data protection and contract law
Experience from legal work in the public sector, preferably in a politically governed organization
Experience in providing legal advice to other professionals
Knowledge of public procurement
Knowledge of information security
Good reading and writing skills in English

You are quality conscious and take responsibility for independently driving issues forward. You have good collaboration skills, are responsive, pedagogical and can communicate in a target group-oriented manner. You have good judgment that comes in handy in legal considerations.
