Kulturskolan in Umeå is now looking for a dedicated and skilled violin teacher! Kulturskolan in Umeå offers a wide range of subjects and activities: semester courses, short courses, holiday activities and open activities. We are also responsible for Kulturlöftet in Umeå municipality. Our activities are conducted at Midgårdsskolan, Umestan, Hamnmagasinet and at about 20 schools around the municipality. In total, we are about 70 people who work at Kulturskolan. We give pupils the opportunity to develop their musical skills through singing, instrument lessons and playing together in an orchestra, ensemble and choir. We strive for collaboration across both age and genre boundaries, with concerts and projects where everyone can take part and contribute. Our teaching is not only aimed at musical development - we also want to contribute to the students' personal and social growth. Your tasks As a violin teacher, you will Teach violin to students, both individually and in groups. Be part of our El Sistema activities, where teaching takes place in primary schools during school hours, both individually and in groups. Conduct ensembles and orchestras. Be part of a competent and committed team with about 10 other string teachers. The work is scheduled both during the day and in the evening. About you We are looking for you who have: Pedagogical university education with a focus on violin, or equivalent qualifications. Experience of music education work. Good collaboration skills and commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. Meritorious: Experience with El Sistema or similar activities. Suzuki training. Competence in Nordic folk music and/or traditional music from other cultures. Be part of making a difference! The teaching can take place at several different schools around Umeå municipality, so it is good if you have a driving license and a car. You have a good ability to individualize teaching based on the needs of the students.
