Are you the one?

The Center of Excellence for Multilingualism works to ensure that students have access to instruction in their native language as well as academic support in the language they know best. Currently, 38 different languages are represented within the program. We collaborate with both municipal and independent school operators, from preschool through high school.

Students who have at least one guardian whose native language is not Swedish are given the opportunity to study their language as a separate school subject. Through native language instruction, students strengthen their multilingualism, develop their identity, and build pride in their language and background.

We are now looking for a native language teacher in Saurashtra!

You will work closely with mentors and subject teachers, who are responsible for planning, while you provide support in the student’s native language to strengthen their academic development.

This may include support for Hej Umeå Reception Unit when receiving newly arrived students, for example through informational meetings and assessments.

About you

We are looking for someone who is creative, self-motivated, and flexible, and who thrives in a dynamic work environment. You are curious and have a strong desire to both contribute to development and develop yourself. As a person, you easily build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Furthermore, you have strong teamwork skills, are responsive, and can communicate and handle various situations in a constructive and solution-oriented manner. You take responsibility for your tasks and treat others in a courteous and respectful manner. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability.
