Application due date 12 May 2026
Are you the one?

Do you speak Lule Sami?

Finnish, Yiddish, Meänkieli, Romani Chib and Sami are national minority languages in Sweden. Pupils belonging to one of the national minorities have the right to be taught their mother tongue, regardless of whether it is a living language in the home or not. This means that the student has the right to read the language even if it is a beginner's language.

Umeå municipality WANTS MORE when it comes to the development of teaching in the national minority languages, with a particular focus on preschool and younger children. A longer development work is underway based on finding successful language models for teaching in and in the national minority language for both first and second language speakers.

We are now looking for you who want to contribute to the continued development of our students' language, culture and identity!

Type of employment

The position is a special fixed-term employment on a part-time basis, 40%, with a planned start from 2026-08-17 to 2027-06-09. Remote work for teachers living elsewhere in Sweden is possible and the scope may be changed.
