Do you speak Yiddish? The Center of Excellence for Multilingualism is looking for a colleague in Yiddish. If you speak Yiddish and have experience working with children and young people, you may want to become our new colleague. Ideally, you have a teacher training in preschool or school. Your tasks You will teach Yiddish to a pupil in the preschool class. The student receives 120 minutes of instruction each week at the student's school. We require local teaching, as distance teaching is only permitted from year 1 according to the Education Act. Teaching in a language shower four times per school year is included in the assignment. It is an itinerant service and pupils are taught locally (or remotely) at the pupil's home school from pre-school to grade 3. The work as a mother tongue teacher includes planning, implementation, grading and evaluation of the teaching you carry out based on the Swedish curriculum. You are never alone as we work together to develop teaching based on our three keywords language, culture and identity within the framework of our Language Hub; a language hub that brings together the national minority languages from the small child to the almost adult. Together we have started a longer development work based on finding successful language models for teaching in and on the national minority language for both first and second language speakers.
