Elderly care services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.
Nordstjärnan in Marieberg, about 6 km from downtown Umeå, is a newly built nursing and assisted living facility that, together with a preschool and a commercial kitchen, forms a unique collaborative complex in Umeå. The building has four floors and houses a nursing and care home with 60 apartments. On the ground floor, there is a communal area with a café and a stage where children and residents can participate in shared activities such as art exhibitions, singing, or the St. Lucia procession. The preschool’s art studios can be used by both the children and the seniors. The surrounding area offers access to forests and nature. The courtyard features a greenhouse that everyone can enjoy. The building also features a winter garden where residents can grow plants during the winter months.
Now is your chance to join our team! We are seeking two nursing assistants for night shifts at the Nordstjärnan nursing and care home.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for providing our residents with high-quality, safe, and secure care tailored to their individual needs. Your duties will include assisting with personal care, meals, and medication management.
As delegated by the nurse in charge, you will perform medical tasks and be responsible for documenting completed interventions, actions, and the residents’ health status in accordance with applicable procedures.
You contribute to a meaningful and secure daily life through a professional approach and a warm, caring demeanor. As a point of contact, you will focus on the residents’ participation and self-determination, and ensure that care is provided to a high standard in accordance with care decisions and implementation plans.
About You
Interacting with residents requires a high level of competence, grounded in personal suitability, maturity, and strong empathy. You demonstrate a strong commitment to both the residents and the organization in your relationships and in your daily work. You enjoy working independently and are both patient and proactive. At the same time, you have a strong ability to collaborate and work together with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
For all positions, we are seeking candidates who are certified nursing assistants and have experience working in elder care. To be able to communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
Heavy lifting is involved; lifting aids must be used. Smoking occurs in the workplace, so you should not have any allergies.
