Elderly care services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Ersboda Nursing and Care Home is located in Västra Ersboda, near the church. We have a winter garden and a beautiful outdoor area with a fountain, offering ample opportunities for outdoor activities. We also have a sauna that can be used when time permits. Our facility was built in 2014–2015. The building has two floors divided into six units with a total of 60 apartments. Your Responsibilities

With a professional approach and a warm demeanor, you’ll support our residents in their daily lives. The focus is on the residents’ right to have a say, and you’ll help ensure that services are provided to a high standard, in accordance with care decisions and implementation plans. You will assist with tasks such as personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, meals, and other services.

Your responsibilities also include documenting care measures and health status, as well as performing medical tasks as delegated by the responsible nurse.

Work hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

About You

For the nursing assistant positions, we are looking for individuals who are trained nursing assistants with experience working in elder care. For the nursing staff position, we are looking for someone with experience working in elder care.

To communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and administer medication, you must have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. For all positions, knowledge of Finnish is considered a plus, as the facility has a Finnish-speaking unit.

Your interactions with residents require strong professional competence based on personal suitability, maturity, and empathy. You demonstrate a strong commitment to both residents and the facility in all your interactions and actions. You enjoy working independently, are patient, and take initiative. You have a strong ability to collaborate with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Heavy lifting is involved; transfer aids must be used.

Employment Information

  • Nursing Assistant: Two permanent, full-time positions, starting September 1, 2026.
  • Nursing Staff: One temporary position, full-time, starting September 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027.
