Application due date 16 August 2026
Are you the one?

Would you like to help shape the future of health and social care in the Municipality of Umeå?

The Digital Health and Social Care Unit is responsible for installing and implementing digital solutions in the home, as well as for supporting older adults in using assistive technology and digital services. We drive development efforts, carry out pilot projects, and coordinate processes related to digital initiatives in elder care.

We are now looking for a nursing assistant who wants to take on a key role in an innovative and interprofessional organization where care, technology, and collaboration come together to create greater security, participation, and independence for older adults.

The Digital Health and Care Unit currently consists of, among others, IT technicians and coordinators. As a nursing assistant, you will work closely with these professional groups and, together with other colleagues, help further develop the unit’s operations. The role involves developing, coordinating, and implementing digital initiatives for elder care, as well as contributing your care expertise to the introduction of new work methods and welfare technology solutions.

Your Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant with us, you will:

  • Conduct digital visits via video, chat, and other digital solutions.
  • Provide support and reminders to clients using digital tools.
  • Introduce and guide clients in the use of assistive technology in the home.
  • Provide advice on smart home solutions and technology adaptations.
  • Troubleshoot simple technology-related issues.
  • Manage documentation, administration, and follow-up in digital systems.
  • Respond to incoming messages via digital channels.
  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize digital initiatives based on users’ needs and ensure that the right measures are implemented at the right time.
  • Coordinate contacts and administrative tasks in collaboration with other professionals to create an efficient and cohesive healthcare and social care process.

Work hours include days, evenings, and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who can easily build trusting relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners. You are communicative and have a strong ability to express yourself and provide support through various communication channels, such as phone, chat, and video calls. You enjoy working independently and take great responsibility for planning, prioritizing, and coordinating your tasks in a structured and efficient manner. At the same time, you take the initiative, are solution-oriented, and identify opportunities for improvement and development within the organization.

Since the unit is engaged in development work and continuously works to implement new solutions and work methods, it is particularly important that you are flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. You have a good understanding that development is an ongoing process that requires commitment, the ability to collaborate, and an open-minded approach. We therefore value your curiosity, humility, and desire to actively contribute to the organization’s continued development. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma as a prerequisite, plus training as a nursing assistant.
  • Experience working in elder care, home care services, home health care, or other health and social care settings.
  • Strong digital skills and experience working with multiple IT systems simultaneously.
  • Strong administrative skills and experience with documentation in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Class B driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education in administration or welfare technology.
  • Experience with digital work methods in health and social care.
  • Experience with welfare technology, such as personal safety alarms, digital monitoring, medication dispensers, GPS alarms, or digital locks.
  • Experience installing or troubleshooting technical equipment in users’ homes.
  • Experience providing technical guidance or training to clients or colleagues.
  • Experience coordinating, planning, or organizing interventions.
  • Experience with change management or development initiatives.
  • Experience with documentation in operational systems.
  • Experience working with digital communication, such as video calls and chat.
  • Knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL), the Health and Medical Care Act (HSL), and relevant documentation.

Heavy lifting may be required; assistive devices must be used. Since we work in clients’ homes, there may be pets and smoking present, so you should not have any allergies.

Before an offer of employment is made, we ask that you provide an extract from the police criminal records database. This is the final step in the recruitment process.

The selection process and interviews will begin after August 17—we warmly welcome your application!
