Skräddaren’s nursing and care home is a municipal senior living facility in the municipality of Umeå that serves older adults with extensive nursing and care needs who have been granted a place through a social services decision. The facility is located in Teg, approximately 1.5 kilometers from downtown Umeå, close to the Ume River and green spaces. The building was constructed in 2003–2004 and renovated in 2014.

The facility comprises a total of 47 apartments spread across three floors. Each floor is divided into two smaller units, which contributes to a calm and home-like environment for both residents and staff. Work is carried out in close collaboration with licensed professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, where good teamwork and a professional approach are central to our operations.

We are now looking for two nursing assistants who want to join and strengthen our team!

Your Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant with us, you are an important part of our residents’ daily lives. With a professional approach and a caring attitude, you’ll assist each resident with whatever support they need. We take a person-centered approach and focus on the individual’s strengths—with an emphasis on preserving and enhancing their existing abilities.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Personal care and hygiene.
  • Documenting care procedures and health status.
  • Serving as a designated care contact where the resident’s participation is central.
  • Medical duties as delegated by the responsible nurse.

The position also includes an expanded scope of responsibility, where you may serve as, for example, an alarm representative, a documentation representative, and be responsible for FOK and OK activities at the residence. You will actively contribute to developing the quality, procedures, and work methods of the facility.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues, nurses, and other professionals to ensure high-quality care. Transfer aids are always used when moving or lifting residents.

About You

We’re looking for someone who interacts with people with empathy, attentiveness, and a genuine commitment. You thrive in a role where you take responsibility, collaborate with others, and are eager to contribute ideas that improve our operations and make a real difference. You have a patient approach and a positive demeanor in all situations, even when the pace is fast or conditions change rapidly. The role also involves contact with various government agencies, which means you work in a structured and meticulous manner and feel confident handling documentation and follow-ups. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Certified nursing assistant. You must have proof of a professionally recognized title.
  • Experience working in elder care.
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
