Elderly Care in the Municipality of Umeå aims to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Umeå Norra Short-Term Care Center is located on Mariehemsvägen, where we focus on recovery and daily living rehabilitation. Our mission is to provide every resident with the best possible support to regain their abilities and remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

With us, you’ll work in bright, modern facilities with 64 apartments spread across four floors. We offer a work environment that promotes both well-being and professional growth—a rehabilitation-focused gym, a cozy visiting room, and a lush outdoor area for recovery and socializing.

We are now looking forward to welcoming a temporary nursing assistant to our team!

Your Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant with us, you play a vital role in each resident’s recovery. We take a person-centered approach and focus on the individual’s strengths—with an emphasis on preserving and strengthening their existing abilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personal care and hygiene.
  • Documenting care procedures and health status.
  • Serving as a designated contact person, with the resident’s participation at the center.

You’ll work closely with colleagues, nurses, and rehabilitation staff to ensure high-quality care. Transfer aids are always used when moving or lifting residents.

About You

We are looking for a certified nursing assistant who preferably has experience working in elder care. We would prefer that you have experience with medication administration.

To communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication administration instructions, you must have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We’re looking for someone who approaches people with empathy, attentiveness, and genuine commitment. You thrive in a role where you take responsibility, collaborate with others, and are eager to contribute ideas that help develop the organization and make a real difference. You have a patient approach and a positive demeanor in all situations, even when the pace is fast or conditions change rapidly. The role also involves contact with various government agencies, which means you work in a structured and meticulous manner and are confident in documentation and follow-up. We place great emphasis on personal fit.

Additional Information

This is a full-time temporary position, starting September 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.
