Elderly care services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Väst-Teg Nursing and Care Residence is a newly built municipal residence located in Väst-Teg. The residence opened in the fall of 2024. In total, there are 120 apartments spread across 12 units, with each unit consisting of 10 apartments. Each unit has its own spacious balcony. On the ground floor, there is a café and a glass-enclosed patio. The Väst-Teg facility also features a production kitchen.

We are now looking for both nursing assistants and nursing staff to join our team!

Your Responsibilities

With a professional approach and a friendly demeanor, you will assist our residents in their daily lives. The focus is on resident autonomy, and you’ll help ensure that care is provided to a high standard, in accordance with care decisions and implementation plans.

You’ll assist with tasks such as personal hygiene, laundry, housekeeping, meals, and other services. Your duties will also include documenting care procedures and health status, as well as performing medical tasks as delegated by the responsible nurse.

Work hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

About You

For the nursing assistant positions, we are looking for qualified nursing assistants with experience working in elder care. We would prefer that you have prior experience in dementia care.

For the nursing staff position, we are looking for someone with experience working in elder care. Here, we consider it an asset if you have a healthcare education and experience in dementia care.

Your interactions with residents require strong skills based on personal suitability, maturity, and empathy. You demonstrate a strong commitment to both residents and the facility in all your interactions and actions. You thrive on working independently, are patient, and take initiative. You have a strong ability to collaborate with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

In order to communicate with clients, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and be authorized to administer medication, you must have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Heavy lifting is involved; patient-handling equipment must be used.

• Nursing Assistant: Three permanent, full-time positions, starting as soon as possible by mutual agreement.
• Nursing staff: One permanent, full-time position, starting as soon as possible by mutual agreement. Two temporary positions, full-time, starting as soon as possible by mutual agreement through August 31, 2027.
