Elderly care services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Eriksdal Nursing and Care Home is located close to nature by the sea, with a view of Ljuviken Beach in Holmsund. We have a beautiful outdoor setting with an enclosed and an open courtyard featuring balconies that are used for pleasant social gatherings during the summer. The building has two floors and a total of 41 apartments spread across four units, as well as two short-term care beds.

Your Responsibilities

With a professional approach and a warm demeanor, you will assist our residents in their daily lives. The focus is on resident autonomy, and you will help ensure that care services are provided to a high standard, in accordance with care decisions and implementation plans.

You will assist with tasks such as personal hygiene, laundry, housekeeping, meals, and other services. Your duties will also include documenting care measures and health status, as well as performing medical tasks as delegated by the responsible nurse.

Work shifts are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

You have a patient approach and a positive demeanor in all situations, even when the pace is fast or conditions change rapidly. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Experience working in elder care
• Experience with the administration of medication and insulin
• Good spoken and written Swedish, so you can communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication delegation

Preferred Qualifications

• Education in healthcare and nursing, e.g., nursing assistant or care aide

The job involves physically demanding tasks; patient-handling equipment must be used. Smoking may occur in the workplace, so you should not have any allergies.
