Elderly care services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Lundagård Nursing and Care Home is located in Sofiehem, about 4 km from downtown Umeå, near Norrland University Hospital and Ålidhem Church. The facility is newly built and opened in the fall of 2019. Lundagård is a collaborative facility, which means that other municipal services are also located in the building: a preschool and a commercial kitchen. The approximately 100 children who attend the preschool have their outdoor play area adjacent to the facility’s outdoor space, and the commercial kitchen prepares a large number of meals that are distributed to residential facilities and preschools throughout the municipality of Umeå.

We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a temporary nursing staff member with us!

Your Responsibilities

You will assist our residents with personal care and, as delegated by the nurse in charge, perform medical tasks. Your responsibilities also include documenting procedures and health status. You will also serve as a point of contact, with a focus on the elderly resident’s right to participate in decision-making. In this role, you will ensure that care is provided to a high standard in accordance with the care decision and implementation plan.

About You

Interactions with residents require a high level of personal competence, where maturity, empathy, and good judgment are crucial for creating a sense of security and trust. You demonstrate a strong commitment to both residents and the organization through a respectful and professional approach in all situations. You enjoy working independently and are patient and proactive in your approach to work. At the same time, you have a strong ability to collaborate and work together with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in nursing and assisted living facilities
  • Experience with medication administration
  • Good command of spoken and written Swedish, to be able to communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication orders

Preferred:

  • Training as a nursing assistant, care aide, or similar qualification

Heavy lifting is required, and patient-handling equipment must be used. There are pets (dogs/cats) at the workplace, and smoking occurs, so you should not have allergies.

We warmly welcome your application today—selection and interviews are ongoing!

Additional Information

This is a full-time temporary position, starting August 17, 2026, through March 21, 2027. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

Before an offer of employment is made, we ask that you provide an extract from the police criminal records. This is the final step in the recruitment process.
