Elderly Care in the Municipality of Umeå aims to be a resource that, through closeness and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Would you like to work in a home care service where commitment, participation, and quality are the focus? Tavelsjö Home Care is an intrapreneurship with strong local roots where employees have significant influence over the operations. Here, you’ll be part of a supportive and competent team that works together to provide care with thoughtfulness and flexibility—close to the individual and the community.

Your Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone who, through a warm and professional approach, can assist our seniors in their daily lives. You will assist with tasks such as personal hygiene, showering, laundry, housekeeping, meals, and other services. Your responsibilities also include documenting care procedures and health status, as well as performing medical tasks as delegated by the responsible nurse.

The goal is to enable older adults to continue living in their own homes for as long as they wish. You will work according to the assignment, with a focus on the client’s right to participate in decision-making. This ensures that services are provided with high quality in accordance with the care decision and implementation plan.

Work hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong professional competence based on maturity, a sense of responsibility, and well-developed empathy. You demonstrate a strong commitment to both the individual and the organization, which is evident in your relationships and actions. You work independently, are flexible, and show patience and initiative in various situations. You also have a strong ability to collaborate and work together with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Experience in health care and social services, such as: hospital wards/clinics, home health care, home care services, assisted living facilities
  • Good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, so that you can communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication delegation
  • Class B driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trained as a nursing assistant, caregiver, or healthcare aide
  • Experience working in elder care
  • Experience with medication delegation
  • Experience with documentation

The job involves physically demanding tasks; patient-handling equipment must be used. Pets and smoking may be present in the workplace, so you should not have allergies.
