The Elderly Care Services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and interaction, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Teg nursing and care home is beautifully situated along the Ume River, close to lovely green spaces. The facility consists of 101 apartments spread across 10 units. An extensive renovation and refurbishment of the main building was completed in 2013.

We have a café, a common room for activities and entertainment, and a light therapy room. The community hall can be booked by residents or their relatives for events such as birthday dinners or other social gatherings. Relatives have the option of staying overnight in a guest room. We also have a unit with a Sami focus, which means Sami elements in both the outdoor and indoor environments, including a special fireplace, Sami art, and celebrations of Sami holidays.

Your responsibilities

You will support residents in their daily lives by assisting with personal care, meals, cleaning, and various activities. At the request of the responsible nurse, you may also perform medical tasks. Documenting the care provided and the residents’ health status is an important part of the job.

As a contact person, you focus on the resident’s needs and their right to have a say. You ensure that services are provided to a high standard in accordance with care decisions and implementation plans.

Working hours are scheduled for days and evenings, including weekend shifts. 

About you

In your interactions with residents, you must be empathetic, driven, and solution-focused, and demonstrate personal maturity. You show a strong commitment to both residents and the organization in all your relationships and actions. You enjoy working independently and have a strong ability to collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability in this recruitment process. 

Requirements

• Certified nursing assistant
• Experience in healthcare and social care
• To be able to communicate with clients, relatives, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified nursing assistant
• Experience with medication administration
• Experience working with cognitive impairment

Heavy lifting is involved; lifting aids must be used.

Pets and smoking are present in the workplace, so you should not have allergies.
