Elderly care in Umeå should, in close interaction with the residents, be a force that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live a safe, independent and dignified life - all their lives. The municipal home care service is the municipality's own provider with long experience, strong competence and responsibility for just over half of all home care assignments in Umeå. We are now looking for a strategic, courageous and present head of operations who wants to shape the future of home care together with us. Your mission As Head of Operations, you have overall responsibility for operations, budget, finances, quality and work environment. You are the one who drives goal achievement and ensures that the business develops in line with the strategic goals and direction of the Elderly Care Administration. You lead and develop the business together with your management team, which consists of about 20 people. The team includes the Deputy Head of Operations and two Development Managers, who are also part of your staff responsibilities. Together you lead the business through 16 unit managers and three administrative supports, who are responsible for a total of 14 home care units spread throughout Umeå municipality. The municipal home care service's night and alarm patrol is also under your responsibility and handles all home care cases at night - including alarms and night interventions for both the municipality's own providers and the external ones. As a member of the elderly care director's management team, you are an important voice in shaping the future of elderly care and developing home care services in a growing and changing municipality. You will also ensure constructive and professional collaboration with trade unions. You will be responsible for strategic management, development and quality across the municipal home care service budget, resource allocation and operational balance - both short and long term work environment, safety and systematic processes (OSA, SBA) collaboration with trade unions, assistance officers, health care, digitalization unit and external home care providers. The assignment also means that you reporting to the Elderly Committee and representing the organization in media contexts driving development towards the future of elderly care, where more care is provided at home and with a focus on prevention actively participates in municipality-wide and administration-specific improvement work works in a process-oriented way and translates objectives into practical action. About you We are looking for someone who wants to lead through courage, clarity and trust - and who sees the big picture in a complex mission. The assignment requires a university degree managerial experience experience of working with political committees or boards. We would like you to have experience in social services or health care and in managing through other managers. As a leader, you are communicative, have a holistic approach and see opportunities for synergies that promote joint solutions. You have a strong ability to work strategically and are confident in representing the organization - also in media contexts. Why Umeå municipality?
