Elderly Care in the Municipality of Umeå aims to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Anyone over the age of 18 who cannot get to a health center on their own or with assistance may be eligible to receive health care and rehabilitation/habilitation in their own home. Home Health Care is responsible for home nursing care, home visits, rehabilitation, habilitation, and assistive devices in ordinary housing, including prescriptions and certifications for home modifications. This service is available 24 hours a day for individuals over the age of 18 who live in their own homes.

Our goal is to strengthen each individual’s ability to live an independent life and to provide good, safe, high-quality care. The work is based on a health-promoting and rehabilitative approach, with a focus on participation, coordination, and a clear division of responsibilities. 

We are now looking for several qualified nursing assistants who are interested in a flexible and rewarding part-time job where the individual is the focus!

Your Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant in home health care, you will perform delegated tasks at the primary care level. Your duties primarily include administering medication and insulin, changing dressings, and catheter care. With us, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with patients and make a real difference in their daily lives.

Requirements

  • Certified nursing assistant
  • Experience with specimen collection and delegated tasks, such as medication and insulin administration
  • Experience with wound care
  • Good spoken and written Swedish, so you can communicate with patients, family members, and colleagues; write and review care documentation; and receive medication delegation
  • Class B driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in home care and/or home health care
  • Experience working with feeding tubes and/or catheters

The job involves physically demanding tasks; mobility aids must be used. Smoking and pets are present in the workplace, so you should not have allergies.
