We are looking for people who want to work with young people at our community centers—that is, our youth centers for 13- to 17-year-olds, Ungdomens hus Ersboda and Ungdomens hus Hamnmagasinet, with a focus on high school-aged youth. We also run programs for adults with disabilities.
These community centers are located within the municipality of Umeå, including Sävar, Hörnefors, and Holmsund/Obbola, and are open in the evenings, on weekdays, and on weekends. The activities are voluntary and based on the target group’s perceived needs, ideas, and wishes. Would you like to join us?
Your Responsibilities
You will work in youth programs at Umeå Municipality’s community centers. The community centers have different age groups and focuses to meet the needs of the target group. As a youth program assistant, you’ll work to inspire and support young people in taking an active role and shaping the center’s activities based on their needs, ideas, and wishes.
Together with your colleagues, you’ll help create safe and drug-free community centers. You’ll play an important role as a role model for the young people.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is committed, responsible, and has a genuine interest in working with young people. You’re a confident and positive role model who finds it easy to build strong relationships and earn trust. As a person, you are empathetic, flexible, and a good team player. You enjoy working in a team but can also take the initiative and work independently when needed. You have an inclusive approach and treat everyone with respect and consideration.
We value your creativity and solution-oriented mindset, as well as your ability to inspire and motivate young people in various activities. You handle challenging situations calmly and confidently and are skilled at setting boundaries clearly and respectfully. Great importance is placed on personal maturity and suitability.
