Are you the one?

We’re so glad you’re interested in working as a physical therapist with us at Home Health Care!

Home Health Care (HSIH) consists of occupational therapists, physical therapists, registered nurses, and nursing assistants. Our wonderful team consists of 23 occupational therapists, 14 physical therapists, and 3 rehabilitation coordinators who work closely together. You’ll be part of a team that fosters a strong sense of community and job satisfaction. We’re great at encouraging and supporting one another.

Our target group consists of patients aged 18 and older who require health and medical care in their own homes within the municipality of Umeå.

In the fall of 2026, we will be expanding HSIH with a number of occupational therapists and physical therapists. This is to strengthen teamwork within HSIH and enable us to focus on more preventive measures through a rehabilitative and person-centered approach. The new employees will be part of our regular operations and will participate in developing our current approach.

Your Responsibilities

As a physical therapist, you will work to create the conditions that allow individuals to continue living in their own homes and lead as independent a life as possible. Your work will include, among other things, assessing patients’ functional abilities and mobility, and then providing recommendations and instructions for mobility assistance and exercise programs. Writing medical reports, prescribing assistive devices, and supervising home care staff are common duties.

About You

We are looking for a licensed physical therapist. Previous experience in home health care, teamwork, or working in specialized fields such as geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, or psychiatry is a plus, but we also welcome applicants with other professional backgrounds. The position requires a Class B driver’s license and a good command of spoken and written Swedish

As a person, you have strong collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team while taking responsibility for your own performance. You believe that a professional and friendly demeanor—perhaps with a touch of humor—is a valuable tool for building good relationships with patients and colleagues. You are a positive and dedicated colleague who wants to help develop our organization. In our recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Heavy lifting is involved, and you are expected to use patient-handling aids in your work. Since smoking and pets may be present in the workplace, you should not have any allergies.

Would you like to help shape the future of home-based rehabilitation? Do you want a job where your efforts make a meaningful difference in other people’s lives? Then you’ll be a great fit with us!

We warmly welcome your application!

Before making a job offer, we’ll ask you to provide a police background check and will verify your credentials in HOSP. This is done as the final step in the recruitment process.
