Do you want to be involved in developing Umeå municipality's work with civil preparedness? We are now looking for a committed and development-oriented emergency preparedness coordinator who wants to contribute to strengthening the municipality's resilience.
We need to strengthen the municipality-wide work by hiring additional emergency preparedness coordinators for work with civil preparedness and are therefore looking for you who are interested in making a difference in an interesting, exciting and varied work.
The security unit is tasked with coordinating, supporting, following up and developing the municipality's work with security and civil preparedness. In addition to the work on crisis preparedness and civil defense, the security unit is responsible for coordinating the municipality's work on information security, security protection, insurance protection, internal security and efforts to counter organized crime and welfare crime. The unit currently has ten employees and is organizationally located at the City Management Office, within the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness. The issues for which the unit is responsible are politically governed by the municipal board.
Your duties
As a preparedness coordinator at the City Management Office, you will mainly work across the municipality on preparedness issues such as risk and vulnerability analysis, continuity planning, population protection and preparations for societal disruptions, heightened preparedness and war. You will play a central role in the municipality's work to develop robust processes and structures that strengthen our ability to manage crises.
In your work, you will coordinate and support the municipality's other activities and companies and collaborate with external actors such as the county administrative board, the armed forces and civil society. You will be part of the municipality's crisis organization where there may be the opportunity to be part of the municipality's tib organization.
Your duties are linked to tasks within municipal civil preparedness. The role of emergency preparedness coordinator means that you drive, develop and follow up the work in the areas and tasks for which you are responsible.
About you
We are looking for you who have a suitable university or college degree in social sciences, political science, risk management, crisis preparedness, community safety or other relevant education or experience that the employer considers relevant to the task.
Experience in working with security protection, continuity planning, crisis and war organization, total defense planning and work with civil society is meritorious.
To succeed in the role of emergency coordinator, you need to be driven, structured and responsible. You are analytical, have good problem-solving skills and thrive in a role where you get to combine coordination, development work and efforts that translate plans into action.

You thrive in the coordinator role and are good at creating and maintaining good relationships. You have good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.
