The Pre- and Comprehensive School Administration is responsible for pre-school, pre-school class, compulsory school, adapted compulsory school and after-school care in the municipality. Preschools and compulsory schools in grades F-6 are divided into two geographical areas, Southwest and Northeast. Grades 7-9 are a single area. Each area is led by an area manager. Tomtebogård school is a F-3 school in Tomtebo in the eastern part of Umeå, close to nature on the shores of Lake Nydala. More than 240 pupils play and learn here. The unit works closely with the preschool, which is adjacent to the school. Tomtebogårds F-3 is one of Umeå municipality's training schools, which means that during the academic year it receives student teachers on their practical training, VFU. We are now looking for a principal. Welcome to apply! Your work tasks As a principal, you have ultimate responsibility for students and staff at the school. You will be responsible for the elementary school F-3 with associated leisure time and have a close collaboration with the principal of Tomtebogårds preschool. The assignment as principal involves, among other things: leading and coordinating the educational work at the school deciding on the internal organization of the school and the allocation of resources quality assurance of teaching student health work staff responsibilities staff planning, recruitment and rehabilitation employee and salary reviews overall systematic work environment management You are part of the F-6 North-East primary school leadership team and report to its area manager. About you We are looking for you who have a higher education in education, preferably with a focus on teaching or leisure. We also want you to have experience of educational work in the lower ages of primary school. If you have experience of leading after-school activities and experience as a principal, this is positive. If you have not worked as an assistant principal/principal, we would like you to have otherwise led or coordinated colleagues in development work, or you have attended recruitment training or an internal trainee program for future school leaders. We are looking for you who have a clear vision for the school and can inspire and engage staff, students and parents in striving towards common goals. You are a good relationship builder who fosters good relations with staff, students and guardians. You also actively contribute to cooperation and collaboration within the management team to which you belong. It is important that you have a good ability to organize and plan the school's activities in a way that promotes learning and development. You also need to have clear and good communication skills and have the courage to make decisions and stand by them in relation to pupils, staff and guardians.
