Umeå municipality's vision is for Umeå to have 200,000 inhabitants by 2050, but Umeå's growth must be achieved with social, ecological, cultural and economic sustainability. The municipality also aims to be a climate-neutral city by 2040.
The position is located at the Environmental Development unit, which is one of four units in the Environmental and Health Protection Department at the Urban Planning Administration. At the unit, we work broadly with environmental and climate assignments in collaboration with others for Umeå's sustainable community development.

Your work tasks
In your role as a project coordinator, you will work to achieve our goals of sustainable growth and climate neutrality in Umeå municipality. You will mainly work in projects together with the project manager and project group and your tasks include, among other things, working independently and in collaboration:
coordinating and administering projects
participating in planning and development work
ensuring good communication with internal and external stakeholders
participating in and preparing events
participate in the common tasks of the workplace
Your qualifications
You should have:
a university or college degree in a relevant field, e.g. in sustainable community development, behavioral and norm change, circular economy, sustainable food, project management or other training relevant to the assignment.
experience in project work through education or work experience
ability to express yourself fluently in Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
If you also have work experience of coordination responsibility and/or sustainable community development, this is an advantage.

You should be a committed and driven person who enjoys collaborating and working on projects. You are pedagogical, easy to communicate and enjoy working with others. You have a genuine commitment to sustainability issues and contribute with drive, responsiveness and a solution-focused approach in your daily work.
Other information
The position is a temporary position, full-time for 12 months, starting October 1, 2025 or as agreed, until October 1, 2026.
Travel in the service occurs.
