Elevhälsan in preschool and compulsory school works in teams consisting of a school nurse, school counselor, school psychologist, school special educator and principal. We work based on the intention of the Education Act. Student health should primarily work to promote health and prevention, at the individual, group and organizational level, to support the student towards the goals of education.

Your duties

You will work as a school psychologist within the student health geographical team. You will have responsibility over specific school units and together in a multidisciplinary team led by the school principal. You will work at organizational, group and individual level. You work in primary school ages, preschool class to grade 9.

The work as a school psychologist means being part of the school's interdisciplinary student health team and working primarily with promotional and preventive efforts that contribute to creating environments that promote students' learning, development and health.

The role of the school psychologist is to:

• Provide psychological expertise as a support in the educational work and in the overall planning of student health work.
• On behalf of the principal, conduct psychological investigations and assessments of students, groups and organizations to contribute psychological knowledge about students' conditions for learning and need for support.
• Provide guidance and consultation to other school staff.
• Provide knowledge about mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, and supportive conversations to students, guardians and educators.
• Contribute psychological knowledge about protective and risk factors for students' health, learning and development, for example through training in mental health and ill-health.
• Use knowledge about students' mental health in the student health service's other work.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with experience of working with children and young people. If you have experience of working as a school psychologist and/or other equivalent experience, it is an advantage. We would also like to see that you have experience in health promotion and prevention and MI.

It is important that you have a holistic perspective on children's learning and development. You must have the ability to create good relationships between children, young people and adults, but also between different authorities or actors such as schools, family homes and social services. You see great value in working together with different professional competencies. We are looking for people who are responsive, clear and communicative. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Travel is included in the service so you must have a B-driving license.

As a result of the law on suitability control, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment.
