Pupil health services in primary and lower secondary schools work in teams consisting of a school nurse, a school counselor, a school psychologist, the school's special education teacher and the principal. We work based on the intention of the new School Act. Student health care should primarily work to promote health and prevention, at the individual, group and organizational level, to support the student towards the goals of education.
We are now looking for you who are a licensed psychologist for our business!
Your work tasks
You will work as a school psychologist within the geographical team of student health. You will be responsible for specific school units and together in a multidisciplinary team led by the school principal. You will work at organizational, group and individual level. You will work in primary school ages, preschool to grade 9.
The work as a school psychologist involves being part of the school's interdisciplinary student health team and working primarily with promotional and preventive efforts that help create environments that promote students' learning, development and health.
The role of the school psychologist is to:
Provide psychological expertise to support the pedagogical work and the overall planning of student health work
Carry out psychological assessments and evaluations of pupils, groups and organizations on behalf of the school principal in order to provide psychological knowledge about pupils' learning conditions and support needs
Provide guidance and consultation to other school staff
Provide knowledge about mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, and supportive conversations to students, guardians and educators
Contribute psychological knowledge about protective and risk factors for pupils' health, learning and development, for example through training on mental health and ill health
Utilize knowledge about students' mental health in other student health work
About you
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with experience of working with children and young people. If you have experience of working as a school psychologist and/or other equivalent experience, it is an advantage. We would also like to see that you have experience in health promotion and prevention and MI.
It is important that you have a holistic perspective on children's learning and development. You must have the ability to create good relationships between children, young people and adults, but also between different authorities or actors such as schools, family homes, social services, etc. You see great value in working together with different professional competencies. We are looking for people who are responsive, clear and communicative. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Travel is included in the service so you must have a B driving license.
As a result of the law on suitability control, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment.
