Pupil health services in primary and lower secondary schools work in teams consisting of a school nurse, a school counselor, a school psychologist, the school's special needs teacher and the principal. We work based on the intention of the new School Act. Student health care should primarily work to promote health and prevention, at the individual, group and organizational level, to support the student towards the goals of education.
We are now looking for you who are confident, responsive and ready to make a real difference in the role of school counselor.
Your tasks
In your role as a school counselor, you will work to promote the physical and mental health of students in the school environment in collaboration with the school's student health team, staff, students and guardians. You will work according to established directives and policy documents. You will participate in health promotion, prevention and remedial work at individual, group and organizational level from the psychosocial perspective.
About you
As a person, you have a good ability to work independently and thrive on administering and taking responsibility for your work tasks. You need to have good self-leadership and the ability to be flexible, as the school's mission is multifaceted. You will need to be a good team player, as you will be working in a team with other professionals and with other authorities. You will have a strong commitment to the health of children and adolescents. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
Requirements:
Degree in social work
Fluency in spoken and written Swedish and basic knowledge of English
Valid extract from the criminal record, as a result of the law on suitability control
B-driving license, as travel within the municipality is part of the service
Meritorious:
Experience of working in a school or with tasks that are considered equivalent
Experience of motivational interviewing (MI)
