Upper secondary school student health services work in a preventive and health-promoting manner. Pupil health services must also support pupils' development towards their educational goals, and we therefore have a special responsibility to remove obstacles to each individual pupil's learning and development. All pupils must have access to a school nurse, school doctor, counselor, psychologist and staff who have the skills to help pupils with special educational interventions. We are now looking for a school counselor! Your work tasks As a school counselor at Umeå Upper Secondary School, you will work closely with students, guardians and staff. You will work with health promotion and prevention at group and organizational level and collaborate with other actors such as the region, the municipality and other school units. In your work, you will also meet pupils where you will conduct motivational and crisis talks as well as advisory and investigative talks. You also contribute with knowledge of the community's support systems. As a school counsellor, you are also part of the organization's and the school's work on values and equal treatment. About you We are looking for you who have: A degree in social work Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written Experience of documentation Valid extract from the criminal record, as a result of the law on suitability control You preferably have a background in work that involves families and work that concerns mental illness. Previous work as a counselor is an advantage, as is work with young people of secondary school age. It is important that you have a holistic perspective on young people's learning and development. You need to be able to create good relationships between young people and adults, but also between different actors. You see great value in working together with different professional competencies.
