Now we are looking for you who want to work as a school librarian in preschool class, adapted primary school and primary school in Umeå municipality!
Employment information:
A permanent position, full-time 100%, with responsibility for the schools Flurkmark, Hissjö, Grisbacka and Rödäng.
One position until further notice, full time 100%, with responsibility for the schools Östteg and Böleäng.
One permanent post, part-time 80%, with responsibility for Sandaliden, Ersdungen and Ersmark schools.
One permanent post, part-time 50%, with responsibility for Stöcksjö and Stöcke schools.
Your tasks
As a school librarian, you are responsible for the school library and that it is a unified, common and orderly activity with a versatile and target group-adapted range of analog and digital media. Some of this may involve building and expanding school library rooms based on the definition in the Education Act.
You will contribute to increased goal achievement and that the school library is used as a resource in teaching by participating in the school's systematic quality work as well as planning, implementing and evaluating your activities continuously. You are an important part of the school's work on literacy and media and information literacy and you need to participate in and initiate cooperation and activities with educators at the school.
You need to be available and be a resource for both students and teachers by providing opening hours that allow for both booked and spontaneous visits. You will carry out planned activities for all year groups in the school based on literacy and media and information literacy.
About you
We are looking for you who have a degree in library and information science or another education that the employer considers equivalent. It is desirable that you have experience of working in libraries, preferably school libraries, and experience of working with children and young people. You have a solid knowledge of and interest in literature for children and young people. You are also well updated in reading promotion methods and have good digital skills in the field.
To thrive in the role of school librarian, you need to be self-motivated, have the ability to take your own initiatives and be interested in driving development work forward. We also want you to be creative and find new ways to spread the love of reading. You should have the skills to match media and content to the different needs and contexts of learners. You have an inclusive approach and are used to communicating, collaborating and working outwardly with a focus on high service levels.
You have a good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
Driving license and access to a car is desirable but not required.
Due to the law on suitability control, you will be required to present a valid extract from the criminal record before employment.
