Elderly care services in the municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently.

Holmsund Nursing and Care Home is centrally located in Holmsund, right next to a health center, a pharmacy, and a grocery store. We offer ample opportunities for outdoor activities thanks to balconies, patios, and a shared courtyard. The building has three floors and houses 59 apartments. Holmsund Nursing and Care Home consists of six units: three nursing and care units, a short-term care unit, a service housing unit, and a nursing and care unit located in Obbola.

One of the most outstanding features of Holmsund Nursing and Care Home is our staff. We have dedicated individuals who are passionate about creating a safe and home-like environment for our residents. The staff consists of a wonderful mix of experience and youthful enthusiasm. We are now looking for two service staff members!

Your Responsibilities

To allow our nursing staff to focus more on nursing care, we’re now looking for someone interested in handling the related tasks that also arise at our nursing and care homes.

Job responsibilities may include, for example:

  • Cleaning residents’ rooms and common areas such as kitchens, staff rooms, hallways, etc.
  • Laundry
  • Ordering/receiving goods and distributing them
  • Kitchen and food handling, serving meals, setting tables, and washing dishes
  • Simple janitorial duties

About You

As a person, you have the ability to prioritize and work independently, while also being meticulous and service-oriented in your work. You enjoy interacting with people during your workday and find it easy to collaborate with others. The role of service assistant is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting and moving on a daily basis; therefore, good physical fitness is required to perform the job duties. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Good command of the Swedish language to communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in cleaning or health and social care
  • Experience in cleaning
  • Experience working in a nursing home

Pets may be present in the workplace, so you should not have allergies.

Other

Work hours are during the day, Monday through Friday. The position involves 37 hours per week, including work on public holidays if they fall during the week, but not on weekends.
