Ersängsskolan is located in Östra Ersboda and is a multicultural F-9 school that is divided into several smaller schools. In total, there are just over 400 pupils at the school. There is also a customized primary school focusing on subject areas and resource classes for the whole municipality. We have one of Sweden's best school libraries and nearby there is a football pitch and adventure playground. Our dedicated teachers focus on a language-developing approach with the goal that everyone should meet the knowledge requirement. Ersängsskolan is one of Umeå municipality's training schools, which means that during the academic year we receive student teachers on their practical training, VFU.

Now we are looking for a social educator to the operational team!

Your tasks

As a social educator with us, you are among the students during school hours and during leisure time at Ersängsskolan. Your mission is to:

• Be present and create relationships with students and staff.
• Attention and early intervention against norm-breaking behavior.
• Participate in meetings with guardians.
• Hold thematic training / information for groups of students with a focus on, for example, value base work or to increase confidence in community support functions, social services and police m.
• Provide social, emotional support to individuals and groups of students; support to e.g. get to school.
• Facilitate dialogue between guardians and schools.
• Collaborate with other professions to facilitate students and guardians.
• Work to channel students into leisure activities of various kinds.

About you

We are looking for you who have relevant education in psychosocial work, you can e.g. be a trained social educator. You have many years of experience working in schools with students whose mother tongue is not Swedish. You also have experience of working with students in leisure activities.

To succeed in the work, you need to be a flexible and stable person who likes to work with both children and adults in a school environment. You build good relationships with students and have good empathic skills. You will find it easy to cooperate and communicate with colleagues, guardians and other partners. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is required for the position, in order to communicate with students, guardians and colleagues.

As a result of the law on suitability control, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment.
