The Investigation Unit works to conduct preliminary assessments, investigate cases, and provide support and interventions to children, adolescents, and their parents in accordance with the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). The Investigation Unit has nearly 55 employees divided into three work groups, each with a unit manager and a group leader. We work according to the “Child’s Needs First” (BBIC) approach, which is a unified system for child welfare services. Our goal is to provide high-quality social work with a focus on the child’s needs. Our work is based on knowledge, accessibility, continuity, participation, and a holistic approach. We actively work to create a workplace that provides all employees with the right conditions to do a good job. We want all our operations to adopt a health-promoting approach, and we strive to provide meaningful work, job satisfaction, a sense of community, and personal development for all employees.

We are part of Yrkesresan, a national competency initiative for staff in social services who work with children and youth. As a new employee, you’ll be gradually introduced to the unit’s responsibilities. You’ll also receive internal and external case supervision to support you in your work and help you grow in your professional role.

As part of our regulatory functions, we also operate a Social Emergency Response Team staffed by 16 employees from our various units. Working in the Social Emergency Service is a special assignment within your existing position, accounting for approximately 35% of your workload. Work in the Social Emergency Response Team involves evening and weekend shifts and is always performed alongside a colleague. We are now seeking several new colleagues for the Investigation Unit, preferably those interested in also taking on a special assignment in the Social Emergency Response Team.

Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities primarily consist of conducting preliminary assessments and investigations into children’s needs for protection and support, as well as deciding on and following up on interventions in accordance with current legislation. You’ll have a varied role with autonomy and the opportunity to make a difference. It’s a wide range of responsibilities where no two days are alike. The position requires strong proficiency in spoken and written Swedish. Expect daily challenges, but also stimulating, meaningful, and rewarding tasks alongside fantastic colleagues!

The role may also include special assignments with the social emergency response team, depending on your interest and as needed.

Are you the person we’re looking for?

You have a strong ability to take action and handle situations in complex environments. The work is often unpredictable, which requires flexibility and the ability to reprioritize on short notice. In this role, we often encounter people in difficult life situations, so it’s important that you are a confident and stable person. You’re also good at taking the initiative and have the ability to work independently and make your own decisions.

You want to actively participate in developing the organization and contribute to a positive work environment. You are committed to your duties and view the investigative work as part of a process of change focused on children’s needs and their right to a safe upbringing. You have strong collaboration skills with both the families you meet and with coworkers and partner organizations. You can identify individuals’ needs and view them from a holistic perspective.

You possess strong administrative skills and can express yourself well both verbally and in writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
