Are you the one?

Are you looking for an exciting and varied job?

We offer meaningful and varied work where you can make a difference for the people you meet. Of course, there are challenges—such as making difficult assessments and the need to quickly reprioritize your day. But it also means many positive encounters with different people whom you’ll see grow, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the development of future elder care.

Elderly care works toward two overarching goals: independence at home and safe, secure care and support, based on the strategies of collaboration, prevention, ensuring a skilled workforce, and digitization. A shared vision creates the energy and inspiration for new solutions that help us stay on course and maintain our focus on the work ahead.

Within the unit Elderly Assessment , we work with individuals (aged 65 and older) who, due to aging and its consequences, need support and assistance. We receive applications, conduct assessments, and make decisions in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL). We follow up on these decisions to ensure that the client’s needs are met. We are a unit with 40 employees, and our office is centrally located in Umeå.

We are now looking forward to welcoming two social workers to our team!

Your Responsibilities

The role of a social worker involves ensuring equitable and legally sound case management. Your responsibilities include receiving reports and applications, following up on existing interventions, documenting, investigating, making decisions, and guiding individuals based on their needs in accordance with the Social Services Act (SOL).

You will conduct investigations in accordance with the IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus) approach and work independently while collaborating closely with colleagues, other professionals, and organizations, both internally and externally. In this role, you will have frequent contact with individuals, family members, and other stakeholders. Through collaboration at the individual, group, and organizational levels, you will ensure that the individual’s needs are met in the best possible way.

About You

As a social worker, you will often encounter people in difficult life situations, so it is important that you are a confident and stable person. You are good at taking the initiative and can work independently.  The job requires flexibility and the ability to reprioritize at short notice, as the workload can be high at times.

You are committed to the organization’s development and actively contribute to a positive work environment. You have strong collaboration skills, view individual needs from a holistic perspective, and value cross-departmental collaboration. Since we work to strengthen collaboration between our units, you view collaboration as a natural and important part of your work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
