Hagaskolan in central Umeå is a pre-K through 9th-grade school with integrated and adapted hearing support services. Our school is characterized by dedicated and qualified staff, a positive attitude, and close dialogue—fundamental building blocks in our work to support students in their development. We are now looking for a special education teacher specializing in Swedish for 4th grade!

Employment Information

This is a permanent, full-time position, scheduled to begin on January 8, 2027.

Your Responsibilities

As a special education teacher in Swedish for 4th grade, you will help create favorable conditions for each student’s learning and development. You will work closely with classroom teachers and support them in developing accessible and inclusive instruction. The position also includes conducting educational assessments, designing and following up on action plans, and participating in student health services and various collaborative meetings.

About You

As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. Based on your professional background, you have a solid understanding of student development and learning and can identify and address individual needs at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You have strong collaboration skills, are responsive, and find it easy to communicate and collaborate with students and other key professional groups relevant to the target audience. We place great emphasis on personal suitability

Requirements

• Certified special education teacher with a focus on Swedish
• Possesses or has applied for a teaching license
• Experience teaching at the middle school level
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written Swedish
• Valid police background check

• Experience working with special education tasks at the middle school level
