We have a shared strategy for education in our municipality: to create a cohesive educational pathway that contributes to greater equity, improved academic outcomes, and attractive educational opportunities. Here, all children, young people, and adults should have the opportunity to reach their full potential and develop their knowledge and skills. We know that this depends on dedicated, knowledgeable, and professional staff who provide high-quality instruction. We make a difference every day and are proud of our mission. We have Sweden’s most important job—our mission is to instill hope for the future in young people.
Linblommans School is a K–6 school located four kilometers southwest of downtown Umeå. A school that’s just the right size to make new friends, and just small enough for every student to be seen! Here, digital tools are a natural part of our work. We also have our own on-site kitchen that uses a high proportion of organic ingredients and access to one of Umeå’s most modern sports halls. Employment Information
This is a permanent, full-time position, starting in August or as agreed. This is a summer position.
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a special education teacher for our special education groups for students in grades 4–9 with a focus on autism. The groups consist of approximately 6 students each and serve a large catchment area within the municipality. You will be part of a team alongside other teachers associated with the program, and you will work together to create a safe, structured, and accessible learning environment for the students. Your daily work involves close collaboration with parents and guardians.
The role includes teaching, planning, monitoring, and documenting the students’ learning and development. You will also be responsible for coordinating and monitoring students’ developmental and support needs within the framework of the USS program. Central to the role is collaboration with guardians, student health services, and external partners such as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (BUP), social services, and healthcare providers. The position includes providing guidance to our own organization at the school. Due to the unique expertise of the unit, guidance and support for other schools in need of special education expertise may also be relevant.
About You
As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. You enjoy working with children who need special support, as you play a vital role in their school day. Based on your professional background, you have a solid understanding of students’ development and learning and can identify and address individual needs at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You have strong collaboration skills, are responsive, and find it easy to communicate and collaborate with students and other key professional groups serving this target population. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
