Special education teacher with specialization IF, Forslundagymnasiet Type of Employment Full-time
Job position Special education teacher
Work model On location
Application due date 30 March 2026
Are you the one? We are looking for a special teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities for an adapted upper secondary school in Forslunda.
Forslundagymnasiet's adapted upper secondary school offers two specializations: Real Estate and Construction (FB) and Forest, Land and Animals (SMD). The programs are four years and combine theoretical and practical elements in roughly equal parts, where students develop through practical and real-life learning. Work-based learning (WBL) is an important part of the program. Courses and curricula are flexibly designed to allow each student to reach their full potential based on their personal development. The school also offers rich opportunities for practical work through access to agricultural activities, animal stables and specially adapted environments such as horse stables, dog halls and small animal houses - a "real-life" learning environment where students can grow in both knowledge and confidence.
Your work tasks
As a special needs teacher with us, you work with teaching in common upper secondary school subjects, e.g. Swedish, English and mathematics, in adapted upper secondary school. You are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating teaching based on current policy documents and the students' individual needs and conditions.
An important part of the assignment is mentoring and, together with your colleagues, creating a safe, enjoyable and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. We place great emphasis on relational work and you work closely with the team, other educators, student health and school management.
About you
We are looking for you who have a primary school teacher's degree with broad subject qualifications and that you are a licensed special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities (IF). You have very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing. It is an advantage if you have experience of working in adapted primary schools and of working with young people with intellectual disabilities.
You are flexible, clear and structured, with a strong commitment to students with special needs. You are an important part of the pupils' school day and have a good knowledge of pupils' development and learning. You collaborate well with colleagues, are responsive and communicate clearly with pupils, guardians and other professionals around the pupil. You motivate and support pupils in both their academic and personal development, create good relationships and are confident in your teaching role. You see opportunities even in a business where the pace can vary.
You work consciously to create an accessible, challenging and stimulating learning environment that awakens students' curiosity and desire to learn. You are solution-focused and a team player who, together with the team, takes responsibility for the development of the business, so that each student is given the best possible conditions for learning and development. You also work closely with assistants, student health services and the principal.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
As Forslunda is a nature-based upper secondary school with several types of animals, you should not be allergic.
Before employment, an extract from the police criminal record is required according to current legislation. If you have a teaching license, please attach it to your application.
Welcome with your application! You can either attach a CV and cover letter or fill in your details directly in the application form.
