The leisure administration in Umeå municipality wants to contribute to a good living environment by creating good opportunities for active leisure with sports, exercise, recreation and public health. Its area of responsibility includes the operation of sports and leisure facilities, leisure, excursion and recreation areas, facilities for recreational boats, as well as efforts in recreational fishing and mobile outdoor life. Through the municipality's joint Associations Office, the Leisure Administration is responsible for the overall preparation, follow-up and evaluation of the municipality's support for associations and for strengthening contacts between the municipality's various representatives and organized associations.

The Operations Department is responsible for staffing our major sports facilities: Nolia Sports Centre, Gammlia Sports Centre and Teg Sports Centre, as well as facilities in Holmsund and Hörnefors. Other sports and leisure facilities in the municipality are managed by our mobile operations team based in Västerslätt. This group is responsible for, among other things, the maintenance of ice rinks, school sports fields, neighborhood sports fields, artificial and natural grass fields, sports fields, equipment rental, outdoor swimming, boating, outdoor recreation and maintenance of Bräntberget.

Your duties

The work includes the operation and maintenance of a wide range of facilities and environments that promote outdoor recreation and physical activity. This includes responsibility for jogging tracks, ski tracks, ice rinks, school sports grounds and community sports grounds, as well as ensuring that artificial grass pitches, natural grass pitches and sports fields are of high quality all year round. The mission also includes equipment rental, maintenance of outdoor swimming pools and boating services. In addition, the organization is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Bräntberget and other sports-related tasks that may arise. Together, these tasks contribute to creating attractive, well-kept and accessible environments.

Working hours are scheduled day, night and weekend.

About you

We are looking for you who have an approved upper secondary education. The position requires a B-driving license and a BE-driving license as you need to be able to move between different facilities and drive work vehicles in the service. You also need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing as the work involves daily communication with colleagues, associations, schools and visitors as well as handling written documentation and safety procedures. Basic knowledge of English is important as we regularly meet international visitors, event participants and athletes.

This position involves heavy lifting. Good physical health is an important prerequisite for coping with some heavy work. As a person, you are flexible and able to take your own initiative, you can work independently as well as cooperate well with others. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
