Your work assignments Your main tasks will be to coordinate the municipality's continued work with strategies for stormwater management and the risk of flooding as well as landslides. Some pieces of the puzzle are already in place such as a stormwater strategy, rainfall mapping, and landslide and landslide risk investigation. The work now needs to be taken further with modelling, prioritization of measures and practical investment projects. In your working group, there is the municipality's climate adaptation strategist with whom you will collaborate a lot. Today, his main focus is coordinating Umeå municipality's work with adaptations for a changed climate in the growing city. Together, you will be tasked with coordinating Gator and Parks' internal work with climate adaptation in investment projects and planning processes. You will also, if necessary, provide opinions when preparing opinions for internal and external referrals in the area of, for example, general plans and detailed plans. You convene the municipality's coordination group for stormwater management. Together with the municipality's activities, you set goals and drive the work forward with a joint activity and action plan and compile the joint work so that it becomes accessible and overviewable for politicians and citizens. Tasks may be distributed between the strategists based on need. About you We are looking for you who have a master's degree in water and environmental engineering, geoengineering, hydrology, environmental science or a related field. Alternatively, other training that is deemed equivalent with a focus on water resources or stormwater management. Furthermore, you have a few years of documented work experience in stormwater management, climate adaptation or risk assessment for natural disasters. We also see that you have experience in leading and implementing projects in relevant areas, including budgeting, time planning and coordination with various stakeholders. In this position, we consider it meritorious if you have: studied courses in hydrology and hydraulics experience in stormwater modeling simulated and used GIS tools, where you have an ability to use GIS tools to analyze and visualize geographic data that affects stormwater flows and landslide risks understanding of laws and regulations governing stormwater management, climate adaptation and risk assessment for landslides and landslides experience in developing innovative solutions to deal with climate-related challenges experience working in interdisciplinary teams and with various stakeholders, including government, business and the public experience of working with models that can predict and analyze slide and landslide risks knowledge of and experience in working according to standards and practices experience in the application procedure for external funds experience in procuring investigations You have an ability to clearly communicate technical and scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
