We have a shared strategy for education in our municipality: to create a cohesive educational pathway that contributes to greater equity, improved academic outcomes, and attractive educational opportunities. Here, all children, young people, and adults should have the opportunity to reach their full potential and develop their knowledge and skills. We know that this depends on dedicated, knowledgeable, and professional staff who provide high-quality instruction. We make a difference every day and are proud of our mission. We have Sweden’s most important job—our mission is to instill hope for the future in young people.
Flurkmarks School is a newly renovated school located about 2 mil outside of Umeå, serving students from preschool through 6th grade. Safety and well-being are two cornerstones of the school’s operations. All staff members share a collective responsibility for every child. We actively work to ensure that all students and staff get to know one another. This is made possible through mentoring programs, field trips, and collaborative efforts on various theme days that emphasize the equal value of all people. Curious about what it’s like here? We are now looking for a student assistant who wants to help us foster a love of learning!
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will work as an assistant to a single student in a wheelchair, as well as a resource in a middle-grade classroom. The job involves providing continuous support to students throughout the day, with a focus on promoting their academic development, removing barriers to learning, and supporting them in situations that require social interaction.
You will help students develop their abilities in a safe and adapted learning environment, at a pace based on each student’s individual needs. The goal is to provide students with the best possible conditions for both academic and social development.
The job involves heavy lifting.
About You
You are a reassuring adult and a good role model. You also have the ability to connect with students. You see each individual, create a safe environment at school, and collaborate with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. You enjoy working with children who need special support, as you play a very important role in their school day.
You have strong collaboration skills, are responsive, and find it easy to communicate and collaborate with students and other key professionals serving this target group. You are a team player and treat children, their families, and other stakeholders involved with the students in a professional manner. You are committed and eager to share our values, work toward set goals, and strive for continuous improvement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements
Due to infrequent public transportation that does not align with work hours, we would prefer that you have a Class B driver’s license and access to your own car; however, this is not a requirement if you can otherwise get to the workplace.
We warmly welcome your application!
