We have a shared strategy for education in our municipality: to create a cohesive educational pathway that contributes to greater equity, improved academic outcomes, and attractive educational opportunities. Here, all children, young people, and adults should have the opportunity to reach their full potential and develop their knowledge and skills. We know that this relies on dedicated, knowledgeable, and professional staff who provide high-quality instruction. We make a difference every day and are proud of our mission. We have Sweden’s most important job—our mission is to instill hope for the future in young people.
Hagaskolan in central Umeå is a pre-K–9 school with integrated and adapted hearing support services. Our school is characterized by dedicated and qualified staff, a positive attitude, and close dialogue—fundamental building blocks in our work to support students in their development. Hagaskolan is one of Umeå Municipality’s training schools, which means that during the school year we host student teachers for their practicum (VFU).
We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a student assistant with us during the upcoming school year!
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will work as a student assistant in a class of six students. Your role as a student assistant is to provide students with the opportunities to participate in collaborative learning, in various teaching situations, within their peer group, as well as in everyday activities and in the community. You will work closely with your team and other educators at the school. Your duties may include helping students with the support they need in all learning situations, both in the classroom and in other school facilities.
About You
You are a reassuring adult and a good role model. You also have the ability to connect with students. You see each individual, create a safe environment at school, and collaborate with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. You enjoy working with children who need special support, as you play a very important role in their school day.
Furthermore, you have strong collaboration skills, are responsive, and find it easy to communicate and work together with students and other key professionals serving this target group. You have strong collaboration skills and maintain a professional demeanor toward the children, their families, and other stakeholders involved with the students. You are committed and eager to share our values, work toward set goals, and strive for continuous improvement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
